The straight ruler emoji is one of two ruler emojis found in the emojiverse. It depicts a standard plastic or wooden ruler, such as those found in schoolbags across the world! It is often shown at an angle and has the centimeter and millimeter lines clearly denoted on one edge of the stick. It is used to draw straight lines and can be used to say someone is “on the straight and narrow” or to say you are finished with something or someone, and that you are “drawing a line” under it. It is also frequently used in relation to school and school children, particularly during the back to school season.
